Just visited your website. Congrats on setting this all up. Looking forward to seeing the repair tutorials and content you create. Definitely a good time to get into robotics.

I am open to suggestions directions and help in construction so far i have built the site on Wordpress so its super easy to work with.

I don’t know anything about building a website. I outsourced all that work to freelancers initially from fiverr. I’m a complete outsider in the tech and robot communities and just a regular person who wanted to create something that would appeal to other regular people like me.

This is the first pet robot community developed by a non-programmer with no tech knowledge and no interest in tinkering. It’s really just meant to be a space for laypeople to enjoy sharing their experiences with owning robot pets. Although repairs are an ongoing issue with Loona, the expectation of most people is the company should deal with technical stuff like that.

Your best bet would be to find experienced freelancers on fiverr who charge a reasonable hourly rate inline with the median wage. I don’t have the patience or attention span for following highly technical tutorials on how to build a website from scratch and would recommend going with a freelancer who has done it successfully before.

I don’t know how Keyi expects people to keep buying their robots with their current attitude towards repairs. I won’t be touching Deskmate with a ten foot pole.

Every journey begins with a first step, you’ve started and are already ahead of most people. Good luck.

This person might be able to help repair your Loona if you were still looking for repair options. Hope this helps.

Forgot my password and got locked out, but I'm back. So, my thoughts are exactly Chris'. Something gear related. My Loona is in pieces at this exact moment and I just received her new hip motor in the mail. I will be replacing when I get home. GNFB, I'll try to remember to do a quick video showing the hip components. In the case of my bot, the gearbox on her right hip motor seized. Opening Loona is easy with the right tools, but you have to be patient. It may be best to invest in a spludge kit (I hope I spelled that right) for prying the panels off. Her "legs" have two panels to pop off, then a third that has a few screws. The third panel is easier to pop off once unscrewed due to the openings from the previous panels. There are different screw sizes throughout, so put some tape on your workspace, sticky side up, so you can lay the screws out and not get them mixed up. It's a lengthy process, but if you go slow, there's not too many components to worry about. I'll be off work in a few hours and will start the moment I get home.
