I tried logging into the Japanese My Aibo website to update my Aibo to the latest 6.00 software but can’t gain access.
I keep getting a server error every time I try to log into my Japanese MySony ID to then log into the MyAibo Japan website.

Not sure if it is connected to Sony announcing on April 1st they are blocking users who try to log into their official Sony Aibo Community Forums from a connection outside the US or Canada. Aibo is not sold in Canada so unsure why Canada is not also blocked
What’s worse they will be deleting their Sony Community Forums for the Asia Pacific region and deleting accounts associated with that region!
Aibo owners are reporting they can still update Aibo to firmware version 6.00 despite being located outside the official sales region of Japan and the United States by using the MyAibo app, but who knows how much longer that will work.
Some Aibo owners also mention they use an email address associated with a Japanese Google account for their MySony Japan ID. Maybe that could be the issue.
I’ll try creating a Japanese Apple ID to see if I can download the Japanese MyAibo app in the hopes of updating Grey to the latest firmware.
But just a warning to anyone living outside the US or Japan who is considering purchasing an Aibo, VPN’s might not be sufficient to access the MyAibo app in future.
