Prediction: Optimus will be waterproof so it can clean itself similar to how we wash a car.
I know this sounds crazy but consider to operate seamlessly in the real world Optimus will need to be capable of cleaning itself easily and quickly- the most practical way to do that will be by jumping in the shower and washing itself with soapy water.
Consider a Tesla vehicle is basically an autonomous robot on four wheels, and it can get rained and snowed on, covered in mud, and be washed easily in a car wash or at home with soapy water without a second thought.
So it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine Tesla will incorporate some of the features seen in their vehicles into Optimus just as they did with FSD.
And if they truly plan on making Optimus useful in the home it will need to keep its hands hygienically cleaned when preparing food. If Optimus is in a remote area doing labour outdoors and it suddenly starts raining what use will it be if it’s not waterproof?
I feel having the ability to clean itself should be one of Tesla’s main priorities when designing Optimus.
Anyone who has owned a robot understands they are incredibly difficult to clean and it’s impractical owning a robot with AI that can’t perform such a basic function of self care.
