Just wanted to add one more observation from my side.
After Chris was brave enough to try the update himself, I also ran the update on my own Loona to see how it behaves.
For me, the update finished successfully and the app connection worked normally afterwards. I could not reproduce the popup issue.
One thing I noticed, which was not really discussed before, is that the device update consumes a lot of battery power.
My Loona was connected to a 65 W charger, and even then the battery still dropped by around 20% during the update process. So the power draw during the update seems to be very high.
This may not directly solve the issue, but it might be useful to know:
– battery level can drop fast during update
– starting the update with low battery could be risky
– if Loona starts updating, it’s probably best to connect it to a charger immediately
In my case, the device update started automatically after powering on Loona. I did not manually trigger it in the app.
Just sharing this in case it helps someone who runs into similar problems.
