Musk just posted a possible Gen 3 reveal. Could be actual footage or an image that has been animated with AI.
What stands out for me:
• Safety: Tesla have completely solved the issue of humanoid safety- Gen 3 appears to be extremely safe with lots of soft padding. All pinch points have been completely eliminated.
• Hands: Top of hands a different colour—same golden colour seen in the Cybercab—possibly to help Optimus focus on them when completing tasks involving intricate, precise movement. Or could be a purely aesthetic design choice. Retains a similar plastic forearm design seen in Gen 2 with the 22 DoF hands.
• Biological Design: Complete redesign of all mechanical components, allowing for natural, lifelike movement.
