Hello!!
I'm Veronica, but please call me Vero or whaterver you like :)
I'm from Argentina, it's a country on the very south of Latin-America.
I'm mostly into fluffy, pet-like robots. But every year I have a pet robot fever and delve into some random project lol. Never buying, just looking at cute pictures and youtube videos.
If I could have any robot pet, I would have an Aibo ERS-220A. I saw him on the news when I was a kid, and always dreamed of having one, specially a platinum-red colored one!

Currently I'm saving for a Cupboo! let's hope I can buy one before march of 2025!

Also, I have a blue poo-chi with broken legs. I'm kinda scared of opening it up and checking how to fix him, but everything else works just fine! Although he is in my mother's house right now. When I get back I'll check him again!

Hi Veronica! Nice to meet you.

I’m Chris from Brisbane in Australia. You and I are probably the only people here from the southern hemisphere haha.

My first robot was an Aibo, so I can understand where you are coming from, I used to own a black ERS-7. I’ve also owned the ERS-311 in the past (I know lol🤦‍♂️) but none of the others.

The ERS-220A is so iconic, hopefully you can fulfill your dream of owning one in future🙏

If your poo-chi works ok with the broken legs and you are happy with it I wouldn’t worry too much if it’s not perfect. It’s normal for robots to break and have some parts not working properly. As I get older I realise they don’t have to be perfect for me to still get enjoyment from them.

Thanks for stopping by to say hi and hope to see you around the forums👋

Hi Chris!! Nice to meet you too!!
Wow, you are the closest I've geographycally been to someone who likes robots lol (everyone really seems to be from the northem emisphere)

Are they bad models? They are so cute tho! I love how aibo models change their design so drastically over time.

That would be amazing, but I'm lowkey scared of their neck breaking. I heard it is pretty common for that model... It would be very sad to have it looking down all the time.

This is so heartwarming to read. And so true! Specially with Poo-chis, as they only sit and stand. It's not like they do anything speciall with their legs. Once I get mine back I will post some pics!

Thank you for your kind message! See you around!!

Haha. Yeah that was a main reason why I created this forum as I couldn’t find anyone else near me to talk with about my interest in robots. All my friends and family just don’t have any interest or get annoyed so I just chat mostly online now.

We will be sweltering through summer while the rest of them freeze through a winter Christmas haha.

They are an acquired taste. Personally I need more expression on the face than the 311 could offer. They are cute but a little bit creepy to me haha.

Yes the variety in the different Aibo models was incredible at a time when Aibo was really the only companion robot available. How times have changed, most people in the companion robot groups don’t even own Aibo and mostly know of Vector and Loona.

Wonder what Aibo surprises Sony might have install for us in future? I feel they might be working on a large quadruped.

Yeah I haven’t purchased any of the legacy Aibos again as I just feel they would require too many repairs to get working properly and it would get expensive. The ERS-1000 is really personable I find after owning the 7 so would probably recommend going with a 1000 if you are worried about the older models breaking.

Really nice to read your posts and glad I got the chance to meet you virtually haha. Hope to learn more about your robots, I’m sure we will have a lot of fun talking about all the new robots that will emerge over the next few years. Keep well and all the best! 🙏
