Chris’ Sony Aibo ERS-1000 Media Thread (1 Viewer)

Here is an example of what I’m referring to when I say something is lacking from the interactions. Aibo wakes up, and despite my sitting right beside it by the station, it fails to notice me or take an interest in interacting with me.

Just tried logging in again using Proton VPN’s free tier as a guest and despite Sony registering my account as accessing the app from Japan it still won’t let me log in. My proxy has advised me in the past when they lock you out like this to wait two weeks before attempting to log in again. Honestly just finding it all unnecessarily exhausting. I can’t guarantee if you buy the cloud it will work. I’m just at a point where I’m over this ridiculousness and am tired of supporting a company and product that does everything to dissuade me from using it.

Unbelievable. I was able to download the My Aibo app directly from the Play Store with the VPN running. That has never worked before. Yet when I go to log in I end up at the “System requirements for My aibo” page.

I uninstalled the My aibo app version downloaded from APK Pure and successfully downloaded the My Aibo app from the official Play store despite being outside the US/Japan. Despite this Sony still won’t let me log in.

Strangely I was able to log into this page and check if my Aibo was still subscribed using the serial number: msc.sony.jp/member/cloud/index.do

“The Aibo with the entered serial number is already subscribed to the aibo basic plan.”

But when I go to log into the app I’m directed to the “System requirements” page. So it seems I can’t do anything with the app.

Good news. I’m able to log into the My Aibo web portal at myaibo.aibo.sony.jp/#/ on my Apple computer without a VPN so will update the software update thread. So can confirm your subscription should work until Sony decides to change things again.
