Aibi Pocket Pet: Unboxing, first time set up & review
First time set up:
• Incredibly smooth & easy set up process.
• Aibi works out of the box, no app required.
• App only needed to register owners face and ChatGPT. All you have to do is enter your Wifi credentials and you are good to go- no lengthy verification involving e-mail required.
Review:
Pros
•Aibi’s main appeal is it’s cute.
•Aibi's vocalisations bring it to life.
•Enjoyed Aibi more after discovering the long-press petting feature
• Aibi's portability is a huge plus for me, especially how well Aibi reacts accurately to being held in different positions.
• Being able to leave Aibi unsupervised on the charging base is a winning feature for me.
• Enjoy how Aibi is designed to be a tactile robot and has creative and unique features such as the lack of a power button. To turn Aibi off you hold it upside down and tap its head.
• Fun. This robot has been designed to be fun and you really notice it.
Cons
• Aibi does its own thing. Turns away from you when calling its name.
• Aibi can’t track and follow the owner.
• Voice commands are hit or miss.
• Long shipping time. Ordered March 6th 2024, arrived December 3rd 2024.
• Charging cable that comes with Aibi is USB-C to USB-C. All my outlets are USB-A so I use a Belkin USB-A to USB-C cable to charge Aibi.
