Xpeng just debuted their next-generation Iron humanoid robot at their We, Robots event in China.
What we know so far:
• Production scheduled to begin in April 2026.
• Will utilise solid-state batteries.
• Mechanical design overhauled and replaced with a biologically inspired design that mimics human muscles, skin and bone structure. Now includes a human-like spine, biomimetic muscles, flexible skin, 3D curved facial display and 22-DoF hands.
• Hyper realistic human-like natural walking style.
• Comes in either a male or female version with options to customise body shape.
• Utilises XPeng’s proprietary Turing AI chip allowing all AI processing to happen on device for added privacy.
• Initially to be deployed as a sales representative in XPeng stores, although the company hopes to eventually make them available for home use.
