Hello Fellow Moxie Fans,
I just acquired a moxie for my son, i assumed it was going to be straight forward instead of a paperweight..
I have read most of the post of forum, followed the tiktok video ,l, but seem to be stuck trying wake moxie up.
I get this floating sheep or strawberry and a spinning cog with the words GRL
Likely I misread something, can this robot be salvageable?
I can see in the docker logs, that moxie device attempt to connect

I appreciate any feedback

Thanks in advance
JP

Hi All,

I realized one of my mistakes—my OpenMoxie computer and robot were connected to the same router name but operating on different frequencies (2.4GHz and 5GHz). I had mistakenly assumed that the open migration had worked.

The spinning gear icon indicated that the robot was reconnecting to the Embodied server. The solution was to change the SSID of the router to a different name, which prompted the Moxie robot to request a new WiFi QR code. I then ensured both devices were on the same frequency. Nowmy next step is how to deal with this new icon. Any ideas much appreciated. Cheers 1739497187465.png

Welcome nextgordongekko!

Glad you were able to get the OpenMoxie pairing icon to show up. Although I haven’t performed this process yet I think you have to show Moxie a QR code generated by the OpenMoxie application on your computer?

One issue that seems common is the host name entered during the OpenMoxie set up process doesn’t work. A way around this is to use the LAN IP address of your computer during the set up and then showing the updated QR code to Moxie.

Thanks Chris, I was almost about to gave up. Your right, some routers dont like hosname vs lan ip address. but what made it work was the firewall on docker (i.e it was unchecked on private), i then checked it for private, then moxie wokeup. Cheers 1739507274281.png

Glad you figured this out and Moxie woke up and is now working on OpenMoxie. The screenshots you have provided will be very helpful for others tackling the same problem with Docker’s privacy settings. Thanks for stopping by.
