Noticed the only Kata Friends account with a lot of followers is the dedicated Japanese account. Seems SwitchBot are prioritising Japanese consumers as a result. My prediction is Kata Friends will be hugely popular in Japan and Asia, but flop in the West.
They haven’t posted any updates to the English language accounts since last year, yet the Japanese account is getting priority with regular updates and actual recent coverage of the robots from CES 2026.
I even think they are launching in Japan soon.
Just hope it will be possible to purchase them directly from SwitchBot eventually for customers outside Japan.
