Enchanted Tools just announced they have delivered their first robot to customers, including Sorbonne University and the Institute of Intelligent Systems and Robotics.

This robot resembles Miroka but has a previously unseen hardware design that features a stabilising structure around the base of the ball with lights. This must prevent it from accidentally toppling over in the event of a sudden power outage.

The robot also now has a handle attached to its back, along with an emergency stop button. The shoulders, upper part of the arms and hands have been encased in plastic.

The hardware design is a radical departure from previous designs, seemingly necessitated by the realities of operating such an expensive piece of hardware in the real world without causing damage to it. The new stabilising structure seems to have sensors positioned around its outer circumference, and must have been a huge design feat to accomplish considering there was no hint of it existing earlier this month.

The video below of this new hardware design shows how the robot can be moved around by holding onto the handle attached to the robots back.
