I hope everyone has been great.

I was wondering if something changed recently regarding direct messages. I used to be able to send DMs, but now I can't even view my history.

Is this because I don't have enough activity on the forum?

Hi alefin

Due to incoming laws in the UK and Australia regarding online safety I’ve decided to disable the forums private messaging systems as a precaution as I’m unable to monitor or see private messages which creates a liability for myself if they are used as a vector for illegal activity. It’s ridiculous I know but the penalties are quite serious and I’m just trying to negate risk.

With the US government just banning the social media site TikTok you can see the level of ridiculous government overreach small forum owners like myself are up against.

Was there anything in particular you were needing to use the PM system for?

No, I was just wondering if I missed something, like maybe a setting on my browser or account setting.

Sorry for not making an announcement but you are probably wondering why the user interface has changed, the issue isn't related to your browser or account settings. The recent forum software update caused problems with our custom design, so I've temporarily switched to the default style to ensure everything works properly. This change prioritizes functionality over appearance and will also prevent similar issues in the future.
