We’re Building XiaoMu — An On-Device AI Companion Now on Kickstarter (1 Viewer)

We’re a small team building a desktop AI companion called XiaoMu, currently live on Kickstarter.

The idea is simple: what if an AI device felt more like a presence than a tool?
It runs fully on-device (voice + vision processed locally), has physical movement (5 DoF), responds to touch and environment changes, and gradually adapts to your routines over time. No cloud conversation storage.

If anyone’s curious, here’s the Kickstarter page:

Appreciate honest feedback.

Welcome Wei.Xu!

XiaoMu looks like a great desktop robot! Does it have any touch sensors? I really like how you have made all the AI processing offline.

Do you have any more videos demonstrating XiaoMu’s capabilities?

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and share your Kickstarter here. You are also welcome to post your Kickstarter in our Facebook group.

Yes — XiaoMu includes multiple sensors, including several touch sensors and environmental sensors like temperature and humidity. We want it to respond to physical interaction as well as its surroundings.

We’re still optimizing the internal structure to make sure everything is stable and ready for mass production, so there have been a few design iterations.

We’ll share more demo videos soon as the updated prototypes are ready.

Really appreciate the interest!
