First Optimus robot destroyed: Are Optimus owners and enthusiasts doomed to be targets of Musk hate?
How does Just Stop Oil climate activists attacking one of the few successful electric car companies like Tesla make sense? And why is Optimus a “Nazi robot?” Didn’t my grandparents fight the Nazis in WWII? How can the people whose ancestors defeated Nazis be Nazis themselves?
It’s so disrespectful to the 85 million people who lost their lives in WWII to go around brandishing the label “Nazi” or “Fascist” so casually. Anyone who does so loses all credibility instantly.
This is all so exhausting and ridiculous.
This protest might seem harmless but the destruction of property by pouring liquid latex all over a delicate electrical device creates a dangerous precedent legitimising violence against Optimus and by extension Optimus owners and enthusiasts.
Of all the Optimus headlines I thought I might come across today, this certainly was never one I would have imagined in a million years.
Heartbreaking and frightening to see the unnecessary violent attacks being perpetrated against Tesla, Tesla vehicles and Tesla owners and the constant attacks and negativity towards Musk in the media. This Optimus “protest” in the UK comes as Tesla vehicles are being destroyed on a massive scale by “protesters” across the US, Europe and elsewhere.
These two “protesters” only got a slap on the wrist, both are out on bail or release, despite the extensive damage they did to the Optimus display and Tesla’s reputation. Very disturbing to see the violent destruction of property for a political cause dismissed so casually with no serious deterrent to stop this happening again in future; allowing copy cats to become emboldened and establish an anti-Optimus destruction trend.
