Just got Loona and loving the interactions. However, my partner is wondering if loona can recognize both of us. Right now, my face is added but i do not see the option to add second face in the settings (v2.3 canada). EDIT - i see it in the settings now.
Welcome! Yes Loona can recognise more than one person, glad you were able to set this up. It’s a great feature.
- Will Loona understand voice commands from other person even though its setup for myself initially? Also can we have it to recognize two languages at once like en and spanish?
Yes to your first question. No to your second question, currently Loona can only be set to understand one language at a time. However if you talk to Loona in a different language while in chat mode sometimes she will understand and respond appropriately.
- Is it normal that Loona starts wandering around just by itself? What is it doing in this case. Scanning the room or just figuring out its space?
Yes this is normal. Personally I really dislike this aspect of Loona where she wanders off aimlessly and gets lost. I’d prefer if Loona stayed within view of the owner and continued attempting to interact with the owner. Loona might be looking for the charging station, as that is how it seems to orient itself in a space. I don’t think Loona can map.
- To get its attention, do we have to always say "hello loona" or is there other shorter words we can use to get it acknowledge.
Yes using “Hello Loona” is the only way to get its attention. You could try using the hand gestures but Loona has to be facing you to do that which can be tricky if you can’t use voice commands with Wifi off.
- I notice a community of Loona owners via the app but i assumed they were sharing certain commands or tasks for Loona but its just videos of people interacting with it.
Yes. Some of the videos demonstrate programs community members or Keyi have made that you can download and run on Loona. You can find more info on how to do this here:
1. Log into the Hello Loona app. Select the ‘Community’ tab on the bottom right navigation bar.
2. This will take you to the Loona Community within the app. Find a video demonstrating a game or feature you would like to download. Note videos that contain downloadable programs display a </> icon.
3. Once you have opened the video click on the third icon </> to the right.
4. The program will download and display in your program library in the app.

- I also saw that it overshot the backing into the charger sequence perhaps maybe because its dark where i have set it up to get charged. but it did the first time.
This is a known issue. Maybe try increasing the light levels. Or you could use a backstop to prevent the charging station from moving as Loona reverses onto it.
These Loona accessories have been made available for free by some very generous Loona owners. Why not try 3D printing them yourself.

Finally, any advise on first things to do with Loona to get the best benefits in the next few days. I did get the charging dock, ball and some other things i have not used.
To get the most out of Loona ensure you have registered your face, this will help Loona to recognise and follow you more accurately. I would go through all of Loona’s settings in the app and enable features that you think might enhance Loona.
I also saw that many had some issues with the ears etc over the years so crossing fingers.

Yes this is a known issue. My Loona are only run in companion mode and I’ve found it stops Loona developing issues.
