A new robot called RoBie is doing the rounds on social media. The company behind it, who so far remain elusive, are marketing it as a smart and cute companion robot. Robie is covered in soft fur, and most noticeably has extremely fast reaction times, with moveable cat-like ears, paws and expressive eyes. All we know so far is that the Robie project is six months old and that Robie is designed to look for the owner immediately after waking up.
Robie comes with some pretty sophisticated features which include:
• Advanced spatial awareness: capable of making eye contact and following the owner as they change position.
• Recognises hand gestures.
• Responds to touch organically.
