Fourier have launched their GR-3 humanoid robot, which they are calling a Care-bot. But feel the launch was a bit misleading, as it was only reported in Chinese publications with no updates to their social media on Western sites. If you didn’t think to look at the Chinese sites this launch would have completely passed you by like it did me.

I haven’t had time to read any of the articles, was more interested in seeing the video presentation. This one image of the GR-3 relaxing on a couch with its arm up really stood out for me. Hopefully the video presentation will be available to view soon.

A member of our Facebook group just shared this footage from the launch event in China. Unfortunately after reading some of the articles it seems the GR-3 is still just a prototype and isn’t intended for homes at this point. Fourier plan to offer it for sale as a conversational helper in the service industry initially and migrate to healthcare and eventually the home once they finalise the hardware and create software that can perform complex tasks.
