Yonbo will be controlled by a wristband which is now on special for $1 as opposed to the regular price of $99.

Does it only move with the wristband or does it remove on its own as well?. I’m thinking about getting this robot, but I’m very nervous because I have never participated in a Kickstarter program.

Hi HGS. I think Yonbo can move using voice commands but to be honest an unsure how autonomous the movement is.

Currently I’ve backed two robot Kickstarters, Loona and Ropet. Usually these robots are practically still in the beta stage and undergo a slow development process which can be unpredictable. With Kickstarter I’m unsure if a refund is possible, so you have to be confident in the product before going ahead. If you enjoy being part of the development process and want to be the first to own a new robot at a discount, Kickstarter is for you. If you prefer a polished product with no risk of losing your investment, then wait for retail release.

Yonbo just went live on Kickstarter.

Looks like Yonbo is going to blow Loona’s $3 million Kickstarter record out of the water! Can’t believe they have already hit almost $2 million after only five days!

What is the appeal of this robot? I don’t see it offering anything you can’t already find in Loona.

Clearly I know nothing about what’s going to be a commercial success, I thought Yonbo would tank, while I thought Ropet would be much more popular than it was.
