Thoughts on the new Figure 03 robot?

Aesthetically the robot and presentation were flawless. But I’m wondering about the practicality in real world scenarios. The way it avoids touching the water. If the hands aren’t waterproof that eliminates 90% of the housework, leaving only folding clothing and tidying. Although I guess it could use gloves to cover its hands, so this won’t be a limitation after all.

Looking forward to finding out what the Figure AI team plan on pricing this at.

At 2:15 notice‪ the symbolism of Figure placing a Panda (representing China) and a Tesla roadster (representing Optimus) in the bin.

The demo was visually impressive, but you're right to question its real-world use. Avoiding water is a huge limitation for chores like washing dishes or cleaning surfaces. The glove idea is a solid fix, though.

The pricing will make or break it. And yeah, that bit with the Panda and the Tesla roadster was a clear, and pretty bold, power move.

Am guessing that is going to be a compilation with the Optimus?

It’s getting a lot of backlash from people on X who don’t understand why a robot that isn’t even available for sale and can’t perform basic household chores safely is on the cover of Time magazine.

Yes guess they are going to try competing against China and Tesla.

So much marketing spin with these humanoid companies, it’s becoming exhausting.
