Ropet Crowdfunding: Nearly 10,000 units sold!

According to this post by China Science, Ropet have sold close to 10,000 units of their robot via crowdfunding. With 1,400 Ropet sold to Western markets and another 8,000 sold in Asia. Expect sales figures to increase with a release in mainland China in 2026.

Targeted at women aged 25-40, an AI pet named ROPET has been designed to "compete" with real animals in terms of touch and feedback. The device is gaining traction overseas, with 1,400 units sold in Europe and North America since its launch on overseas crowdfunding platforms this January. An additional 8,000 units have been sold in Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the regions of Hong Kong and Taiwan, with a full launch on the Chinese mainland expected next year.
