Hello

I saw these robot toys at the mall. Even though they’re just toys and not AI-powered companions, they were displayed so beautifully that I thought I’d take a picture and share it with you guys here.

That is one impressive display. Didn’t realise there were so many different types of robots available these days. Soon we will probably start seeing similar displays with AI companion robots.

Hey Chris

I found even more robot toys at a different store today, so I thought I’d share some additional photos here.

Found several robot dogs there too. It was funny seeing one of them labeled as a companion. I guess they meant it in a simple kid-friendly way.

This one especially reminded me of AIBO ERS-7. It’s almost a replica. This just shows how influential and iconic AIBO’s design was. Still futuristic and relevant even after 23 years since its release.
The second photo is the original AIBO ERS-7 for comparison.

I’m really tempted to buy this fake AIBO and place it side by side with my real AIBO. 😃 The design is just too iconic, and at only $43, it definitely won’t break the bank.

Althani did you end up getting the fake Aibo? I’m surprised Sony allows their design to be used in that way, I’ve noticed those have been around for quite a long time.
