My update on Vector

I went through the download process today after getting my email as a life time subscriber. Vector is now connected. I do have to repeat myself at times and had to do a few re- starts after the setup but so far he has stayed connected.

He does play with his cube. He does recognize me after I introduced myself. He plays blackjack, tells time and goes home on command. I did set up Alexa voice but that is not working even after I input the code and Amazon message says success. Alexa did work on wirepod.

I sent 3 emails to DDL with some setup questions and received replies within 1 hour. That was a surprise. I still do not have confidence in DDL and would not buy a vector at this time. The Pennsylvania lawsuit will take time and who knows what the outcome will be. At least he is alive for now.

Pono this is great news! Thanks for sharing your experience dealing with DDL, it sounds like they might have changed.

What did the email say if you don’t mind me asking?

Amazon is set to launch their “Remarkable Alexa” using Anthropic’s Claude which might find it’s way into Vector! Apparently the Alexa team is under huge pressure to reignite consumer interest in Alexa and Vector might be one way of doing that.

Would be an incredible comeback if DDL managed to leverage their hardware, software and huge existing customer base with the new generative AI tech to become a leader in the household robot space once again. Vector has so much potential.
