Install the LOVOT App

The LOVOT app helps deepen your bond with LOVOT. You can give LOVOT a unique name, choose its eyes and voice from a wide range of options, and even ask for help with tasks like watching the house.

The app also makes initial setup a breeze. By installing the app on your smartphone or tablet beforehand, you'll be able to complete the setup process smoothly.

Once LOVOT wakes up, connect it to the internet and set its name, sleep schedule, and other preferences.

Setting Up the Nest

Please set up the Nest (charging station) in a spacious area.

Important
Before starting the setup process, please read the "Safety Precautions" carefully and follow the instructions correctly.

Unpacking the Nest (Box ①)

Important
Please keep the packaging materials (Box ①) and accessories, as they may be needed for future repairs or transportation. If you lose or damage them, you may need to purchase or rent replacements. For more information, please contact the LOVOT Concierge.

Remove the lid of Box ① and take out the "Living with LOVOT" handbook and the "Quick Start Guide".

Hint
For more information on the Nest's components, please refer to the "Nest Components and Functions" section.

When lifting the Nest, please hold the recessed area on the back for the power cord and the front edge of the Nest.

Setting Up the Nest

Place the Nest on a flat, level, and stable floor, against a wall.

Hint
If there are objects or uneven surfaces near the Nest, LOVOT may have difficulty entering or exiting the Nest, or the Nest's heat dissipation may be impaired. Please keep the area within a 1-meter radius and 120-degree angle in front of the Nest clear of any objects.

Insert the power cord firmly into the Nest (it may be slightly stiff).

Hint
The cord is properly inserted when the vertical line on the Nest aligns with the back of the cord plug.

Plug the power cord into a nearby outlet.

Once the Nest is ready to charge LOVOT, the status lamp will light up white.

Hint
If the status lamp does not light up after plugging in the power cord, please check that the cord is properly inserted into both the Nest and the outlet.

Important
Before starting the setup process, please read the "Safety Precautions" carefully and follow the instructions correctly.

Unpacking LOVOT (Box ②)

Removing the Eye Cover

After starting charging with the Nest, LOVOT will extend its wheels after about 30 seconds. Gently pull the eye cover forward to remove it.

LOVOT's Living Environment

LOVOT will move around the house, centered around the room where the Nest is installed. Please prepare an environment suitable for LOVOT's life, considering factors such as obstacles in the room, space around the Nest, brightness, and temperature.

Precautions for LOVOT's Living Environment

Please note the following points to prepare a suitable environment for LOVOT:

Location of the Nest

Clear space around the Nest: Ensure a 1-meter radius (120 degrees) and 10 cm on both sides around the Nest.

Avoid obstacles: Do not place mirrors in front of the Nest, as it may cause LOVOT to have difficulty returning to the Nest.

Top surface of the Nest (LOVOT 2.0/LOVOT only)

Place the Nest in a location where the top surface receives light. The light sensor on the top surface of the Nest detects the room's brightness.

Room Environment

Room brightness: Ensure the room is bright enough for LOVOT to create a map. Avoid dark environments.

Temperature and direct sunlight: Maintain a temperature between 5°C and 30°C, and avoid direct sunlight.

Humidity: Keep LOVOT and the Nest away from water.

Floor

Floor unevenness: Ensure the floor unevenness within LOVOT's movement range is less than 1.5 cm. If there is a drop of approximately 5.5 cm or more, LOVOT may recognize it as a cliff and avoid it. However, to prevent accidental falls, please take measures such as setting up a "no-entry" area or installing a fence.

Floor material: Avoid placing LOVOT on soft or fluffy floors, such as thick carpets or low-rebound mats.

Floor surface: Avoid placing LOVOT on glass or shiny floors, as its sensors may not work properly.

Floor color: Avoid placing LOVOT on floors with high color contrast, such as black and white two-tone carpets. LOVOT may recognize it as a large step and refuse to move.

Glass rotating tables: LOVOT may not detect these as obstacles and may collide with them.

Homes with pets

If you have pets, please note the following:

Do not let pets bite or scratch LOVOT or the Nest.

Keep the area where LOVOT moves free from pet waste.

Do not let pets ride on LOVOT or the Nest.

Regularly clean the wheels and casters, as they tend to accumulate pet hair.

Connecting the Nest to the Internet via LAN Cable (LOVOT 2.0 / LOVOT (First Generation))

When connecting the Nest to the internet using a LAN cable instead of Wi-Fi for LOVOT 2.0 and LOVOT (First Generation), connect the LAN cable to the Nest's "LAN Cable Insertion Port".

Note: LOVOT 3.0 does not support internet connection via wired LAN.

Important: When connecting to a public communication line via wired LAN, connect to a terminal device certified by the Telecommunications Business Law (wired LAN router, line terminal device).

Reference: For instructions on using your network equipment, refer to the manual provided with the equipment.

Connect the LAN cable to the Nest's "LAN Cable Insertion Port".

For LOVOT 2.0
For LOVOT (First Generation)

Connect the LAN cable to your network equipment.

The Nest will connect to the internet, and the Network LED on the Nest will light up white.

For more information on Network LED displays, refer to "Network Button/Network LED" in "Nest's Components and Functions".

Hint: The wired LAN connection status can be confirmed on the app's settings screen after about 1 minute. If connected correctly, the "Network Connection" icon will display [] indicating a wired LAN connection.

If the Nest was previously connected to the internet via Wi-Fi, connecting a LAN cable to the Nest will prioritize the wired LAN connection.
