How do i remove plates?

Hey there, I just recently ordered a loona bot but I was wanting to customize it... I'm not sure how to remove the plates to paint them. And what material do I use to seal the paint? Any recommendations?

Hi Coffee_moth, you remove the plates by prying off the decorative cap towards Loona’s underside and then work your way to further disassembly from there.

The plates on a Loona are usually held by small clips or adhesive. Use a thin plastic pry tool to gently work your way around the edges and pop them off. Go slow to avoid breaking clips.
For painting, sand them lightly first, use plastic primer, then your paint. To seal it, use a clear matte or gloss spray sealant made for plastic models. Light, even coats are key.
