1X has finally unveiled footage of their highly anticipated Neo humanoid robot.
In the video, Neo demonstrates its ability to communicate non-verbally. It asks a user if it can pick up a backpack on the floor by using downward pointing hand gestures and head movements. The user responds non-verbally by shaking their head up and down in a yes response, and Neo reacts accordingly; picking up and handing over the backpack.
Neo then picks up on the non-verbal cues given out by the user to pose beside them.
Neo’s movement is so fluid and natural, you get the impression you are watching a person in a robot suit.
But what I’m finding incredible is Neo’s ability to understand and respond to, non-verbal communication.
The only details 1X give about Neo besides the video is that this is a beta version of Neo.
